Mic “Microphone” Conway
Vocals, National tenor guitar, ukulele, harmonica, gumleaf, musical handsaw, tap dancing, magic and juggling.
Mic's delusions of adequacy have taken him to great heights. The Aria Award winning performer has been alternatively mistaken for a singer, a musician, songwriter, screen composer, actor, magician, juggler, instigator of oddball sight acts and even a creator of musical instruments.
He has become a legend in his own lounge room. As a man after his time he achieved infamy in the 1970s with Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band.
He continued to stretch the envelope of socially acceptable performance with Pram Factory Theatre (A.P.G.), Soapbox Circus, Circus Oz, Conway Brothers’ Hiccups, and The National Junk Band. And is soon expected to be declared a national treasure, as soon as the funds can be raised for the gilding.
